PHOTOS: Frank and Rick, your new President and Vice President. Team United, Champions of the LA Parks Soccer League Womens "A" Division. Congratulations!!

CLUB ELECTIONS: At our team meeting Feb. 2 at Luis and Scotty's home we held elections and planned for the club's upcoming year. The elections results are as follows: Frank-President, Rick-Vice President, Danny-Treasurer, Fabian-Secretary.

The club also decided to have two managers this year instead of three. This decision was made in order to cut down on confusion and consolidate the influence of the managers. The new managers are Nathan Vega and Carlos Chavez. They will be in charge of the line-up, subs, and general info regarding league play. Please contact them if you have any questions about the team, roster, etc.

THE ROAD AHEAD: Also at the meeting we talked of upcoming events this year. Of course the IGLFA tournament in London is a focus. The tournament will be this year from August 23-30. Please click on the link at the top of this page if you want more info. This tournament is also open to womens teams. In order to prepare for this trip, we agreed that we'll have 3 to 4 planned fundraisers at area bars and perhaps a garage sale this summer. We'll need everyone's help.

Other activities we'd like to plan for the year is a mixed game scrimmage/bbq with the United in order to get to know our female counterparts a bit better. We'd also be interested in inviting the San Diego team up for a weekend game. I'll look into setting those two things up.

UNITED'S WINNING STREAK: Team United has been doing exceptionally well in the LA Parks Women's league. The team is going strong under the coaching of Neil MacLean and have reached the playoffs each season since entering the league. Congratulations to all the players for their achievements! Check out the United's page for more photos and info in joining. We missed seeing you Diana!
